DOWNTOWN BEATS THURSDAY EVE CONCERT SERIES
Free Thursday Concerts in the Town Commons
5:30 – 7:30 pm
This year, we’re excited to try out a new location for our Thursday concerts in the Town Common on the site where architect Frederick Law Olmstead proposed a bandshell. The stage with covered tent will be set up on Wednesdays and we’re opening the space up to the community.
About the Artists:
A free concert on the Amherst Common of Indie/Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Cajun, Americana. Eric Lee shapes songs with stand-alone melodies and rich musical backdrops. From the personal to the sublime, they range from tales of honkey-tonk heartache, to anthems of social consciousness. The Green Sisters (Four) sprouted from a small farm in rural Massachusetts and have been playing venues in Massachusetts and New Hampshire regularly for three years and have garnered quite the following. It’s hard not to smile when treated with their tight harmonies and high energy tunes; they bounce their jovial banter around the stage as only siblings can! They revel in each other’s company, and jump easily from bluegrass to barbershop to blues to Celtic to originals of all styles.
