gallery a3

Gallery A3 is an artist-run fine art gallery in downtown Amherst, Massachusetts, that was founded in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on 9/11. A group of local artists believed art to be essential to the health and healing of a community. They came together and began the gallery as a place to share their ideas and a way to provide artistic support to each other, while reaching out to their western Mass. community.

Members include painters, sculptors, photographers, printmakers, and mixed media artists. Over the years, more than 60 artists have found their artistic home at Gallery A3.

Celebrating its 21st anniversary in 2023, Gallery A3 has hosted monthly exhibits with opening receptions and community forums over the last two decades. The online Art in Community program, offered in conjunction with each exhibit, is supported in part by a grant from the Amherst Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. All events at Gallery A3 are free and open to the public.
